Time: 11:10 pm

Toronto Weather: Clear and very warm

Happy Easter and how wonderful he is, for the love and grace he gives us!

April Jocelyn Trisha Lazarus

19  years old

Good evening. What can we say; it’s just amazing what the doctors can do in Toronto. All the machinery and technology all around our daughter, it’s just remarkable. With the assistance of our creator that is.

There are nine IV machines in the room where our daughter is and she’s using all nine of them.

A monitor is also above her head. It monitors her blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen flow and brain activity. Brain activity monitoring is to find out if she’s properly sedated or not. Because sometimes she’s acts like she is about to wake up and we could see her eye twitching and moving under her eyelids.

And there are two other machines to the right of her. These machines pump oxygen into her. The other one, I’m not sure what it does but it also has to do with oxygen, something like an oxygen measurer or something like that.

To the left near her legs is the portable bypass machine. This pumps her blood out, filters it and it goes back into her. This is done to bring out the carbon dioxide she couldn’t bring out.

Just a brief description of her room, just in case you curious people want to know how it is where she is. At the moment, she’s still the same as yesterday. She’s stable and doing well and her infection has went down to 15 (WBC count).

The next step is the double lung transplant. We are hoping and praying it happens soon. The sooner, the better.

Please, continue to keep her in your prayers.

I hope this make sense, I’m not a good reporter and I’m too tired to concentrate!

We would also like to continue thanking for everyone's prayers and support from back home and elsewhere, thank you.

God bless you all!

Time: 10:49 PM

Good evening all! There's not much to report on our daughter tonight. She's the same as yesterday except the puffiness she had yesterday and the days before has now gone down. That is also a good sign. The amazing nurses, of course with the help of our creator are doing an amazing job of keeping her stabilized till the donated organs become available. Let's all pray and hope that happens soon.

That is all and last of all, thank you to Roseanne Sutherland of Attawapiskat for collecting and submitting the financial donations to us. Of course, same could be said to the people that had donated financially. You'll always be in our prayers and thoughts.

Good night and God bless you all!

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Time: 10:50 PM

Weather: Cloudy and warm, breezy

No changes as yesterday and days before. Our daughter, Jocelyn is responding well to the medications.

Just a double lung transplant that we're still waiting for.

Oh yeah, if the surgery begins, it will be eight hours long and Jocelyn will need to stay in Toronto for four months after that for follow-up appointments.

That's all! Please, continue to pray for her.

God bless you all, good night!

Monday, April 20, 2009

Time: 11:33 PM

Good evening. We just got back from the hospital. They had to do some minor changes on our daughter this evening. The canula's that were both on her  leg area, one was moved to her right neck where the big vein is. This was necessary to distribute oxygen evenly all over her body. One of the machines was also change, forgot what they call that. It has to do with oxygen distribution anyway. Other then that, she's doing fine and all her vitals are where they want them to be.

We're still waiting for those lungs. Still praying and hoping that they will become available soon.

God bless you all! Good night!

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Time: 11:00 PM

Toronto weather: Cloudy periods, breezy and warm.

Good evening! Our daughter is doing much better now that one of the canulas had been changed yesterday. She is however still being stabilized and she looks like she's always sleeping. She will always look like that till she gets a set of lungs.

Just this evening, when we were saying good night to her and telling her that we love her, she started to move her shoulders and her eyes were moving under her eyelids. For a second we thought she was going would get up. We're happy to realize that she was hearing us.

Anyway, that's all I can report for tonight. Please, continue to pray for her. God bless you all. Good night!

Toronto Weather: Cloudy periods and warm

Good evening. Thank you to Marina Shisheesh for coming over to visit our daughter, Jocelyn this afternoon at the ICU. I hope your trip back home went well for you.

Anyway, there isn't much to report as yesterday. Jocelyn is still sedated and still waiting for lungs. Tomorrow is her birthday and we're praying that she get a set of lungs for a birthday present. Wouldn't that be something? That's what you would call a gift of life. Praying and hoping that happens.

Nothing else to write about on this fine evening, so i'll just write down good night for you folks, take care and God bless.

Friday Night Update

Time: 10:55 PM

Good evening people. Our daughter, Jocelyn is still the same. We’re just still waiting for a set of lungs to come around and give her the gift of life. Always praying and hoping that happens soon. Please, continue to pray for her. Thank you.

We also want to send out our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Kioke family back home on the passing of their loved one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time and we hope that your family and friends can be a rock of support for you in this hour of need. Again, with our deepest sympathies.

God bless you all.

Sunday, April 26, 2009

Time: 9:30 PM

Toronto Weather: Cloudy periods and cool

Good evening. We just got home from the hospital. Yesterday, we were surprisingly told that they hade found a lung donor for our daughter, Jocelyn. It was an overwhelming surprise. The feeling is just hard to explain. We were crying and happy at the same time.

So, at 1:00 am this morning, Sunday, April 26, 2009, they performed a surgery for a double lung transplant. The operation went well with just minor bleeding to the right lung area. The doctor had also told us that at this time she’s at risk for pneumonia, blood clots, bleeding and brain wound, due to lack of oxygen prior. However he said that will be closely monitored for the next day or two, any problems that arises will be dealt with again at the O.R. He’s hoping that won’t occur and won't be necessary.

The surgery procedure was 16 hours.

Finally, we want to say thanks to our elder, Madeleine Kioke and sister, Caroline Louttit for being there to support us on our tough time of distress. God bless you’s and to everyone else that continued to pray for our daughter.

That’s all for this evening and we’ll keep you’s updated. All we want to do now is to get our sleep as we were at the hospital all night. Good night!

Monday, April 27, 2009

Time: 11:10 PM

Toronto Weather: Cloudy and very warm

Good evening. We just got back from the hospital. Our daughter, Jocelyn is just doing fine. All her vitals, numbers and gases are where where the doctors wanted them. They’ll look at her as each day passes by and eventually will decrease on the drugs she’s presently using.

Oh yeah, what I forgot to mention yesterday on risks was, she could get an infection to but we’re always praying that won’t happen.

Anyway, this evening at 5:45 pm, she was taken back to the operating room again as the doctors were concerned about what was showing on her right top area of her new lung. They suspected she was bleeding. This minor procedure was less than three hours long and it went very well. What was showing on her right top lung area was only a blood form clots from the surgery on Sunday morning and it was not internal bleeding. That has now been rectified.

She also had a fever this morning but that has also gone down to 36.6 C tonight.

Thank you very much to Peter Gitedren, a catholic reverend for coming again to pray for her at her ICU room. Please, continue to pray for her that she makes a full recovery. Thank you and God bless you all. Good night.

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Time: 7:30 PM

Toronto Weather: Clearing up after a rain this morning, now it’s blue sky all over, sun is shining.

Good evening. We came back to our apartment for supper this time.

Our daughter, Jocelyn is continuing to improve. One of the doctors came over this afternoon and told us that everything is looking good so far. He hopes it continues the way it's going. They have also stopped giving her one of the high blood pressure medications early this evening and she’s doing well. She has no fever and they have started on feeding. They have also stopped using one oxygen ventilator from the two she was using. Over the next few hours and days they’ll also start to decrease on the things she’s using like the sedation drug, etc.

That is all for my update for this evening and please continue to pray for her because we know God answers prayers. Thank you and God bless you all.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Time: 10:35 PM

Toronto weather: Clear and a little bit cool

Good evening, just a little update on our daughter, Jocelyn. She’s doing just fine, just a little bit of fever this afternoon and the day nurse was saying her WBC count was also a little bit high but that is to be expected in serious cases like my daughters. she is however being treated for that.

The positive thing is, they have taken off or stopped using the ventilator she was using and she’s starting to breathe on her own. The sedation drug was also taken off. She’s just on another drug that will take over what the sedation drug was doing and slowly get her to wake up, don’t know when she'll do that but she’ll wake up soon.

The other positive thing to is, her room is starting to look very big as many life-saving machines are now been removed from there.

What else? That’s all I think. Nothing else I can write about or remember at the moment, so I’ll just say to continue praying for her that she makes full recovery. Thank you all, God bless you’s and good night.

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Time: 10:35 PM

Toronto weather: Overcast and rain, warm

Good evening, just a little report on our daughter, Jocelyn. She’s doing fine even with a slight of temperature of 38.1 C. She also had a bronchoscopy done this afternoon to look into her new donated lungs. Cultures were taken to find out if bacteria are growing inside. However, the doctors are guessing that there may be small infection only where her lines are. We will see about in two days. That’s when there will be results on those cultures obtained today. Other then that, everything else is fine with her.

Thank you to Stella Kioke-Koostachin and Roseanne Sutherland for sending the financial donations. We just received your Xpresspost mail yesterday.

That’s all for this evening and please; continue to pray for our daughter. God bless you all. Good night.

Friday, May 1, 2009

Time: 10:30 PM

Toronto weather: Cloudy and warm

Good evening, just a night report on our daughter, Jocelyn. She’s doing well as yesterday, her blood pressure is just a little high and heartbeat rapid but she’ll be ok as medicines are used to control them.

She also received physiotherapy on her bed from one of the physiotherapists today. Her arms and legs were stretched out a bit as she has been lying on bed for too long.

As well on Monday, the doctors will do a Tracheostomy on her. Meaning, instead of having a tube down her throat from the mouth, they will do a small incision on her front soft neck area and insert a tube from there. This is common on all lung transplant recipients and it also helps them recover faster and they would be able to talk once they're awake.

Today, she also kept opening her eyes and appeared to be looking around. She was also trying to fight the tube that was in her mouth by biting on it and moving her head around as if she was trying to get rid of it.

My daughter, Laurie was also talking with her sister and she told her to squeeze her hand if she was hearing her, Laurie said she did. Anyway, that’s it for my report on my daughter for tonight. Please, continue to pray her, God bless you all. Good night!

Time: 6:55 PM

Toronto weather: Cloudy periods, scattered showers, cool and breezy

Good evening! Yes, we’re back at our apartment for our supper. Jocelyn is doing fine in spite of a fever and elevated WBC count. A nurse told us it was 21 today compared to 14 yesterday. They suspect it’s the lines and are giving her antibiotics to combat that though. Hopefully in two days that should come down.

As for the cultures that were taken from her lung area, inside the chest couple of days ago, they came back negative, meaning no harmful bacterias are growing inside. That’s one of the very good news we heard so far today.

Also, one of the transplant doctors came in this evening and informed us that everything is looking good for Jocelyn, that her heart, kidneys and new lungs are all ok. He reiterated of the Tracheostomy procedure for Monday.

We had a good laugh at Jocelyn’s room today. A nurse repositioned her in bed because she looked so uncomfortable lying down. As she was moved around she opened her eyes and gave that long angry stare at the nurse moving her. LOL! That was so funny. We believe she didn’t like it when she was disturbed from her sleep. LOL

Anyhow, that’s all folks and please continue to pray for our daughter that her recovery goes well, God bless you’s and have a good evening.

Time: 6:15 PM

Toronto weather: Cloudy periods and warm

Hello there! We came back to our apartment for supper. It’s always hard deciding on our way back what to have, what to eat, what to cook, we just wish we were eating niska with dumplings like you people back home.

There’s not much to report on our daughter, Jocelyn. She’s doing ok and still the same as yesterday. She is only opening her eyes more and nodding her head up and down to our questions. We also placed her eye glasses on her and she looked around after that. It must be nice for her to see clearly now.

Tomorrow she’ll have that minor procedure in her room to have the tube placed on her front throat area instead of in her mouth. She’ll be able to talk now and feel more comfortable. One of the doctors was also saying they'll do the Bronchoscopy again tomorrow, just to be on the safe side.

I think that’s all. Anyhow, sign off now I guess, so have a good evening and continue to say your prayers for our daughter, God bless you’s and to all who enter here. Cheerios!

Monday, May 4, 2009

Time: 7:55 PM

Toronto weather: Looks clear and it’s warm, nice weather for strolling

Good evening! The procedure on our daughter went very well this afternoon. They did the procedure at 4 PM. Now she has nothing in her mouth, only a small feeding tube that goes into her nose. She looks a lot better with the tube off from her mouth and she’s smiling. She’s also trying to talk but nothing is coming out but in due time words will eventually will. We told her to have patience and not to try very hard to talk right now.

Her high WBC (white blood cells) has also come down and that’s a positive sign that antibiotics are doing its job. The bronchoscopy was also done but the doctor has yet to get back to us on that. She was also seen by a physiotherapist this afternoon, meaning some of her muscles in her body were loosened up abit.

I guess that’s it for now. If I forget something I’ll just update again later on tonight. Deal? Ok, you all have a good evening now and please, don’t stop praying for our daughter, God bless you all.

Have a nice evening!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Time: 8:35 AM

Toronto weather: Cloudy and cool, just right at plus 8 Celsius

Good morning! Hello Attawapiskat!

We’re just getting ready to head out again. Just as soon as I’m finishing taking a shower and drinking my tea. Oh yeah, almost forgot…..and eating my breakfast. LOL

You all enjoy your day now and pray for those that are pain and to those people that are very sick. God bless you’s!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Time: 6:40 PM

Toronto weather: Cloudy and warm, more like overcast now

Good evening folks. What can we say, each day looks very bright and promising for our daughter, Jocelyn but she’s not out of the woods yet so that’s why your continued support in prayer is very important.

Today, we were told by one of the transplant doctors that the bronchoscopy they did yesterday showed no abnormalities or problems with the new lungs whatsoever. Her vitals and gases are also still improving.

Also this afternoon, she sat up on a chair for the first time and she showed more awareness as she responded so well on all our questions. We also could tell when she wanted water but we’re not giving her that much as she’s not allowed to drink yet. We just wet a tiny sponge tipped item and put it in her mouth for her to suck on.

She’s also continuing physiotherapy.

That’s it, nothing else to report on I guess. So, I’ll just say take cares and God bless you all for your continued prayers.

You all have a good evening now!

Time: 7:10 PM

Toronto weather: Overcast, beautiful breeze, looks like it wants to rain

Good evening to all my viewers! We’re at home right now having our supper. Our sweet daughter, Jocelyn is still doing fine despite still being listed as critical on the patient critical list. Two more lines or small tubes came off out of her, another positive step or sign into her recovery. An ultrasound was done this afternoon. She also sat up on the chair again but she slept most of the time. She must have been so comfortable to sleep like that.

Anyhow, nothing else to write about, so I’ll guess I’ll just say good night for now and please continue praying for her. God bless you's!

Good night!

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Time: 6:00 PM

Toronto weather: Overcast and breezy, not hot just right, beautiful!

Good evening folks! I never thought I’d say this but Kraft dinner and meatball stew is a very great combination of food! Yummy! First time we had it again. LOL

As for our daughter, Jocelyn she’s doing just fine. The doctors just did another bronchoscopy this afternoon and everything is still looking good, just that her blood count in haemoglobin was a little low so they had to give her one pint of blood to elevate that.

They also didn’t make sit her on a chair today; I think they’re giving her a break from that. She’s just always thirsty and always asking for water. We can read her lips when she says “please”. Sometimes, she gets mad when we say no because she’s not allowed to have that much and she would give us that mean angry look. LOL

Hmm, what else, oh yeah, her vitals are all in the normal range and her oxygen level is just great at 100.

That’s all for now I guess, I have nothing else to report on and please continue to pray for her, thank you and God bless you all!

Friday, May 8, 2009

Time: 6:48 PM

Toronto weather: Partly cloudy, sunny and warm breezy day! It’s probably plus 20 Celsius or something like that! Just awesome!

Good evening viewers! We’re home for our supper, as you can see.

Our daughter, Jocelyn continues to improve. We thank God and for your prayers for that! Two more tubes from her upper stomach area came off, that’s four altogether now, two to go. As well as a line from her leftside neck area and an IV line on her right arm came off.

In its place for the neck and arm IV lines, they have put in a pick line on her left arm. This means it’ll be easier and convenient for everyone, including herself.

She sat up on the chair again today and it was the same thing, the begging for water or ice to drink. She would get angry when we say no. I think she’s back to her old self again. LOL

It was funny earlier and before we came home. Earlier, she was asking and begging her dad for water. Her dad said no. So a nurse came in and she asked her, the nurse gave some to her, just a little bit. After she got that water to drink, she laughed at her dad, like she was saying “haha, I got water, haha!” LOL

Then before we came home, she started to get upset again and she would wobble herself from side to side sitting on the chair. I guess she was uncomfortable and wanted the chair titled back a little.  We said no and she got mad, awhile later the nurse came in and titled the chair back for her. Oh my God, you should have seen that big smile on her face. LOL she was actually teasing us about getting what she wanted when we wouldn’t give it to her. LOL

Anyhoo, that’s about it I guess, that’s my evening update on our daughter. Please, continue to pray for her so that she’ll recover in good health. May the great creator bless you all. Good night!

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Time: 7:10 PM

Toronto weather: Overcast, windy and cool

Earlier this morning we had thunderstorm, heavy downpour and hail. Now it’s windy and cool. I believe the wind is from the north!

Anyway, we’re back at our apartment for our supper again. Our daughter, Jocelyn is continuing to do fine. She had an unexpected visitor this afternoon. She was asleep at first and when she awoke, she was very surprised and happy to see her aunt, Marina Shisheesh standing there and looking at her. Her face brought on a very big smile. LOL You should have seen it!

She also sat on her chair again and I gave her couple of flexible massage handballs to exercise with. She needs to build up her strength and it has to start with her hands.

What else, oh yeah, the number on the ventilator to assist her in opening her lung passage airways was decreased to 14 from 16. If she reaches the number 8, it’s possible that she’ll be completely off the ventilator and all the tubes except for the pick line. The ventilator is not breathing for her, she’s doing that on her own, it only assists her to open her lung airways till she gets strong.

I guess that’s about it for today. It’s a slow day at the hospital, almost everyone is on their weekend off, so Jocelyn is having a rest too. Oh yeah, the ultrasound that was did couple of days ago showed no abnormalities on her liver, another good news!

Ok that’s it, you people have a good night and thanks for your continued prayers. God bless you all!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Time: 7:30 PM

Toronto weather: Partly cloudy and cool north wind

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, my mom, sisters, cousins, sister-in-laws, every mom that just comes by here, hope your day goes well and are receiving the hugs and kisses you deserve from your loved ones!

Anyhoo, just a brief report on my daughter, Jocelyn. She’s doing ok; she was already sitting up and watching a movie, SPEED when we got there this morning. The nurse who was looking after her said they already watched one movie together.

Last night before we came home, the number on the ventilator machine was again decreased from 12 to 10. However, they increased it again to 15 and down again to 13 before we came home for supper. They finally positioned her to left side lying down, so I guess that is the reason why they increased it. Maybe she was putting pressure to her left lung and her sap dropped but she’s ok now. She also doesn’t have a temperature.

I don’t know what the heck is going here in Toronto; all we are hearing all evening are sirens. Coming home and walking by the police station, we saw lots of police officers, some were holding automatic weapons. Oh well, we’ll probably see something on the news tonight.

Anyhow, I guess that’s about it on my daughter, she’s only acting the same asking for water all the time, that’s all.

Ok, I guess this is it, so good night to everyone and stay safe, God bless you all!

Monday, May 11, 2009

Time: 7:00 PM

Toronto weather: Overcast and warm, just right!

Ok, my report for this evening, Jocelyn is still doing ok, still improving little by little each day, she’s getting stronger now and is really determined to fight on. She’s squeezing more with her hands than yesterday and pushing down her dad’s arms, more like she’s trying to arm wrestle with him. LOL

The transplant team of doctors were also supposed to take off the remaining tubes from below her rib area today but they were busy we were told. They’re going to do that tomorrow instead. They’re also going to put on the Vac-therapy tube on her right groin area sometime tomorrow to speed up the healing process where her open wound is. That was the result from where the blood was taken to bring out the carbon dioxide couple of weeks ago.

Other then that, like I said she is still improving little each day. She also sat up for two hours on a chair this afternoon and asked for a breath mint from her dad who was eating them in front of her. When she was told no, she asked why. LOL Anyway, she understood why her dad would not give her any. That’s it! Have a good evening and please, continue to pray for her, God bless you all!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Time: 6:15 PM

Toronto weather: Clear and sunny, not too hot, just right!

Good evening! Yes, we’re back at our apartment having Kentucky fried chicken for supper. Caroline is here eating with us. We twisted her arm and told her to pay. LOL Just kidding!

Anyway, my update on our daughter, Jocelyn, she continues to do fine. They haven’t put on the Vac-therapy machine yet, too busy but they’ll probably do it this evening, that’s a maybe they said.

Monday, June 22, 2009

Time: 5:56 PM

Toronto weather: Sun and clouds, hot at 25 Celsius, well it isn’t that bad!

Greetings folks! Ok, it’s been awhile but anyway here’s an update on our daughter, Jocelyn. She continues to do just fine. All the lines and tubes are finally all out of her. No more annoying lines for her and no more oxygen. Now there’s freedom she says. LOL

She hasn’t been able to get on her own feet and walk yet. She was sedated too long. She’s just still weak in the lower body area which means the legs. The physio people and we are still assisting with her on that and she’s also due anytime to get transferred to the St. John’s Rehab Hospital on Cummer Street, north of the city, where the physiotherapy will continue on. And from there own she’ll be discharged.

A social worker came by already today and gave her the pamphlet for that place. She seemed very happy about it. She’s happy that there’s a salon and internet in that hospital. Let’s just hope that her favourite internet sites like the bebo and knet c-boxes aren’t also prohibited there. LOL

Anyway, I think that’s it, if I forget anything I’ll be sure to mention it on my next update. Ok, you all have a nice evening and be sure to continue on praying for her and everyone else that’s hurting and in heartbreak today, God bless you all and good night.

Ok, here’s a small update on our daughter, Jocelyn. She walked for about seventy-five feet today. This is her first time too since the transplant and we were quite surprised, we thought she would only walk for about ten feet. We’re so proud of her and Caroline just arrived to witness it too. LOL

Other then that, she continues to do fine and everything looks very promising for her. Just tonight before we came back to our apartment, she wanted to walk again. LOL She says that she’s not even out of breath like the last time when she had her own lungs.

Ok, that’s it; you folks have a good night now and remember to pray for the sick and hurting everywhere. God bless you all and good night!

Time: 543 PM

Toronto weather: Clouds and sun, warm at 24 Celsius but not hot, just right!

Good evening! I think i'm long overdue for an update, so here i am! So how's everyone been doin'? As for ourselves we're doing ok.

First, i just want to wish and say Happy Birthday to our son, Willie back home, many more to come. We miss and love you son. Check the mail at the post office for your birthday gift.

Ok, let me update on our daughter, Jocelyn. She's still at the Toronto General Hospital but plans are already in place for her to get transferred to St. John's Rehab Hospital tomorrow and it sounds like she'll only be there for two weeks and get discharged after that. Thank you God. He's amazing isn't he?

Anyway, she's continuing on her walking but she's still weak. Just today she walked like probably 200 feet but where else can she go eh? LOL There's only so much distance a patient can walk in a hospital and it's so crowded with equipment.

That's it, there's nothing else to write about her. She just gets better and better everyday. I didn't want to update every day because it would sound the same anyway. And thank you for everyone that have been praying for her, your prayers are very important for her and us. So, please continue to pray for her and everyone else that's sick and hurting today, wherever they may be. Good night and God bless you all.

Time: 6:44 PM

Toronto weather: Overcast, 20 celsius, looks like it wants to rain

Good evening folks, here's my update once again. Our daughter, Jocelyn, walked without resting today, it was just amazing. She even talked while she was doing that, she never used to do that before. She's also now more energetic with her new lungs, she calls them Peanut and Dave. LOL

Right after her walking, she also went to the gym and rode a bike for five minutes, it was incredible. Then she walked back to her room afterwards. Thank you God, for your mercy and compassion.

Oh, another thing, she has not been transferred to St. John's Hospital yet, there was a setback and the doctors didn't want an infection to occur, they're proceeding with caution. They want her to heal before she leaves Toronto General., which is good for all of us.

That's it, that's all, and thank you for continuing to pray for her, God bless you all. Good night!

Time: 9:45 PM

Toronto weather: Clear and warm

Ok, at the request of one viewer, here's my update!

It will be three months tomorrow, the day our daughter, Jocelyn had a double-lung transplant. And also, three of her medications will also be discontinued as well. More signs that she's continuing to improve. Thank you God for your mercy and compassion. Amen!

Anyway, we just got back about ten minutes ago from the St. John's Rehab Hospital. It is a 50 minute ride, on both the subway and bus, there from our area.

As for our daughter, Jocelyn, she is doing fine and have even more improved from her new exercises. She's almost beginning to manage on her own, like getting and standing up to walking.

She has also started on some new exercises which will even get her even more stronger. Her oxygen level is very good and is never out of breath like before. I will say that her lung capacity is very good near to excellent. She can't wait to get out from the hospital and do the things she never used to do before. Her faith in God is also very strong. she prays all the time for better health.

The hospital she's in, is very good and is very peaceful. The staff is very polite and nice. There are also trees all around which makes the scenery very beautiful. It seems like, it's out in the country, like back home, with just a couple of skyscrapers to be seen to the south. Of course, skyscrapers is the only thing our community doesn't have. LOL

An internet service was also installed on her laptop today by both her dad and sister, Laurie. They bought a USB Turbo Stick from the Bell Canada retailer at Eaton's. Now she can connect to internet from anywhere where cell service is available. I believe she'll update from room anytime now. lol

And before i sign off, please, remember to keep praying for the sick and hurting everywhere, wherever they may be, like our grandson, Myles Lazarus who is at the Kingston General Hospital. May God hear us on our prayers that he get well soon. We love and miss you, Myles, hugs and kiss kiss kiss!

That's all, good night and may God bless you all.

Evening Update

Hello Knet viewers! Welcome to my homepage! it's been awhile since I last updated. Just a short update for now.

I'm updating from Attawapiskat. I came home at the end of July to try and make our home liveable for our daughter, Jocelyn so that nothing harms her from her recent lung transplant.

They're still in Toronto at the moment and we still don't have an idea when they'll be coming home. At present she'll still be going for her physio exercises at the Toronto General. Oh, I almost forgot, she's out of the hospital now and is living with her dad and sister at their apartment. she's doing good other then the vomitting spells she gets once in awhile but that's normal for any lung transplant recipient.

Lastly, sending my prayers and best get well wishes to my grandson, Myles in Kingston. I love you my grandson and missing you very much. Get well and come home soon. Love you and kisses to you and your dad!

Good night!

Good Afternoon my family members, friends and viewers from all over! Welcome!

My goodness, what do i say, what do I write? It’s been awhile since I did a thorough update here and I believe I’m not always good at writing one either. LOL

We would like send our condolence to Lazarus'  family in Kash, You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Anyhow, I’ll start off by saying that my daughter, Jocelyn is continuing to do just fine. She’s enjoying her freedom without the oxygen and she’s physically active and is going to the gymnasium sometimes to do her exercises. She’s also beginning to go places herself and she’s telling us to stop worrying about her. Especially her dad. LOL

She also enjoys the company of her friends who sometimes come and pick her up for a ride in their vehicle.

In closing, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Is it too soon to say that? LOL

Maybe I’ll be back to say it again. Take care for now! Bye

Time: 11:55 AM

Good morning to all my viewers! Welcome!

Wow, it's been awhile I updated. When was the last time I was here? Oh my God, December and it's already March and the snow is melting away very fast.

The weather in Attawapiskat has been mild all through the winter and hardly any snow at all. Right now, our outdoor thermometer is reading eleven above, sunny and the wind is so calm.

Nothing much to write about really. Our daughter, Jocelyn continues to do very good. Just a series of appointments she always go to that's all. She'll again be going to Toronto next month for her 12th month assessment appointment with her dad. They'll be there for at least a week. She also had her medications decreased by three medications last month. She was very happy about that.

At the moment, Jocelyn is receiving her day and night driving lessons from her dad. She's doing pretty good and I am very happy to say that she hasn't crashed yet. LOL High five to my daughter!

And as for myself, just keeping myself busy working at the school. And most of yous' have already heard that we are getting a new school. Just want to say i can't wait to walk and run the hallways again. LOL

Anyway, just make it short for now and thanks for coming. God bless you all and remember to keep on praying for the sick everywhere. Take care and come back again!

Time: 1:45 P.M.

Hello! It’s very nice outside this afternoon; but the wind is kind of cool from the East.

A year ago, on this date, our daughter, April Jocelyn (Dawsheen), was very fortunate to have received a pair of lungs by a donor so that she could continue on with her life with us on this earth.

Many times, I thank God for his sympathy and understanding and for this amazing event that he demonstrated so that we can go on worshipping him no matter how difficult life is going to get at times.

I also want to say thank you very much to those who assisted us in our time of sadness and pain, and to those who prayed and prayed and also to those who helped us financially, we will never forget you. It is very difficult for me how to put it into words of this gratitude, but i’m hoping that all of you will know what i’m trying to say here. Once again, on behalf of my family, thank you.

As for Dawsheen (nickname), let me update a little about her, she’s doing very well, she’s enjoying her cruises around the community with our new vehicle. She eats a lot, lol and she’ll again go for her next appointment to Toronto in six months time. Maybe, a minor appointment in between, i don’t know, we’ll see, but overall, she’s doing well.

Take care and God bless you all, especially to Esther and Judy on the West side. Miigweetch!
